Sponsorship

The Family Class of immigration aims to reunite close family members in Canada. Canadian citizens and permanent residents have the opportunity to sponsor their dependent children, parents and grandparents, as well as their spouse or common-law/conjugal partner through the Family Class.
The Spousal Sponsorship program, a subsection of the Family Class, allows Canadian citizens or permanent residents to sponsor their spouse or common-law partner for Canadian permanent residence.

Permanent Residency Category

The Parents Supervisa Category and Parents and Grandparents Permanent Residency Category provide options for parents and grandparents to come to Canada as long-term visitors on a multi-entry visa that remains valid for up to 10 years. Unlike standard visitor visas, the Super Visa allows holders to stay in Canada for up to two years upon initial entry. Parents and grandparents sponsored under the Family Class Sponsorship Program can also obtain Canadian permanent residence, and eventually, apply for Canadian citizenship.
